Often referred to as a “co-op,” cooperative housing combines the financial advantages of home ownership with the convenience of community living. Designed to fit your changing lifestyle, one of the key features of a cooperative is joint ownership of the property. Share owners - or Members - are part of a cooperative corporation, which owns the building, land and common areas. The share's value is based on the size and type of unit. Members pay a monthly fee, which covers the cooperative's monthly operating costs including the mortgage, taxes, reserves, maintenance and utilities.
A cooperative is operated on a democratic basis and the governing body is its Board of Directors, which consists of elected members from the co-op community. Each equity share enables members to occupy one unit and receive one vote when electing the Board. The Board oversees and directs the policies, expenditures and operations of the cooperative.
Members are encouraged to be involved with their co-op by being on a committee and participating in social activities. A strong commitment to community, member involvement, and great value are the major differences between cooperatives and other housing types such as apartments or condos. The key to the Village Cooperative of Crow Creek’s success is the sense of family that members experience, along with the pride in ownership that comes with cooperative living.
With all the financial benefits of home ownership—along with amenities, security and the comfort of a wonderful community in a fantastic location—we hope you’ll make Village Cooperative your new home and start living the carefree lifestyle you have earned
"The first time I heard about the Village Cooperative of Crow Creek I knew it was the place for me, and I have never regretted moving here. The people are so friendly and caring, and there's lots to do. The Board of Directors, the management and staff are excellent and take very good care of our building and our needs. I feel so safe here!"

"We love the amenities - underground parking, exercise room, common areas for gatherings, guest suites, a management team and a perfect location. This has been a wonderful retirement home for us."

"From the first moment we saw the ad that the Co-op was going to be built we were pulled to the simplicity of moving here. No more yard maintenance, no more house repairs!!! And the fact that I could customize my new place however I wanted sealed the deal. I was thrilled that I could put my personality into my living area. What's fun about being here is the ability to get to know your neighbors, share desserts, get together for potlucks, a weekly breakfast group, getting together for social projects, etc, Best decision we made!!!"

"I attended the very first meeting announcing the possibility of a new concept in living for the Quad City area. I was impressed immediately with what was presented there and have only grown to love the idea more and more since moving to the Village Cooperative. Besides all the amenities, I love just walking down the halls and seeing friendly faces as I go to pick up my mail, play pool, cards, exercise or just walk around the building."
